Our Inspector's view

Welcome to Town Farm, a small collection of dog-friendly self-catering stone-built properties centred around a cobbled courtyard. Perfectly situated within the rolling green pastures of North Devon, and within 10 miles of nearby beaches in both North Devon and North Cornwall. The two properties, The Granary and Greystones, sleep between 2 and 4 people. If you are looking for a larger space, there is an interconnecting door so both properties can be booked together as The Grange (sleeps 6). Beautifully positioned on the edge of Sutcombe village with countryside views, The Granary and Greystones are both graded 4* Gold by VisitEngland. A short drive away is the pretty market town of Holsworthy, a great place to stock up on holiday provisions. A little further away the delights of the coast await, Bude is renowned for its fabulous beaches and is a mecca for surfers. Walkers will enjoy miles of coast path, and this is the best way to discover the many hidden coves, sandy beaches and dramatic clifftops of the north Devon and Cornwall coastline. Boscastle is as pretty as a picture, or perhaps spend a day in Tintagel, home to the legendary King Arthur, where you can see his impressive statue overlooking the Atlantic. Walkers and cyclists alike will love exploring the many trails over Dartmoor, a fabulous place to explore at any time of year. If you are bringing your four-legged friend with you, Town Farm is a dog delight. There are green lanes, footpaths, a woodland walk and an apple orchard, all available straight from the door to keep furry tails wagging.

About the area

Discover Devon

With magnificent coastlines, two historic cities and the world-famous Dartmoor National Park, Devon sums up all that is best about the British landscape. For centuries it has been a fashionable and much loved holiday destination – especially south Devon’s glorious English Riviera.

Close to the English Riviera lies Dartmoor, one of the south-west’s most spectacular landscapes. The National Park, which contains Dartmoor, covers 365 square miles and includes many fascinating geological features – isolated granite tors and two summits exceeding 2,000 feet among them.

Not surprisingly, in Dartmoor the walking opportunities are enormous. Cycling in the two National Parks is also extremely popular and there is a good choice of off-road routes taking you to the heart of Dartmoor and Exmoor. Devon’s towns and cities offer stimulating alternatives to the rigours of the countryside.
