Hidden in the heart of Buckinghamshire, Waddesdon Manor was built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild in the 1870s, to entertain the fashionable world and house his collection of art. Visitors today can enjoy Waddesdon’s paintings, sculpture and decorative arts inside this French Renaissance-style château. The gardens are one of the finest examples of late Victorian design, boasting a Parterre, an ornate Rococo-style aviary, a picturesque rose garden and grounds that open up to rolling parkland.
