"A feeling of grandeur at the former home of a Princess."
Overview
It is not every day that you get the chance to stay in the former residence of a Royal Princess, in this case HRH Princess Mary (1897–1965), who was one of the Queen's aunts. Hospitality at this Grade II listed Goldsborough Hall, is second to none from arrival to departure. Popular, seasonal afternoon teas are served either in front of roaring fires, in the Jacobean Library, or in an elegant Drawing Room. Dining is a standout feature here, where produce from the kitchen garden is given careful treatment in signature tasting menus. Luxury bedrooms are appointed to high standards, with the bathrooms having a real 'wow' factor. Some of the main house bedrooms feature hand-made mahogany four-poster beds. The gardens are a labour of love for the current owners, restored around the lime tree walk, which features trees planted by various royals over the past century.

About the area
North Yorkshire, with its two National Parks and two designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is England’s largest county and one of the most rural. This is prime walking country, from the heather-clad heights of the North York Moors to the limestone country that is so typical of the Yorkshire Dales – a place of contrasts and discoveries, of history and legend.
