Overview
Set in the West Yorkshire countryside with far-reaching views across the rolling Pennine hills, this long-established family-owned Restaurant with Rooms has been welcoming guests since 1968 and has recently undergone an extensive renovation following its reopening in 2024–2025. The 15 bedrooms have been tastefully redesigned in collaboration with House of JOAN, blending comfort with stylish contemporary touches. Food remains at the heart of the experience, with the atmospheric restaurant offering confident, ingredient-led cooking; the French onion soup has deservedly become a signature dish over the years.

About the area
Everybody knows that Yorkshire has some special landscapes. The Dales and the Moors first spring to mind, but what about West Yorkshire? That’s Leeds and Bradford isn’t it? Back-to-back houses and blackened mills… Certainly if you had stood on any of the hills surrounding Hebden Bridge a hundred years ago, and gazed down into the valley, all you would have seen was the pall of smoke issuing from the chimneys of 33 textile mills.
