"Classic Scottish inn with comfy rooms and great dining."
Overview
Auchtermuchty is a quiet village within easy reach of St Andrews, Dundee and Cupar. The Boar’s Head dates back 300 years and has plenty of charm and character, with log burning fires, wooden beams and a really friendly local feel. Bedrooms were added in 2026 bring a new dimension to the inn. These are well appointed and presented with thoughtful extras provided as standard. The modern Scottish menu always features some firm favourites using the best that the local larder has to offer.

About the area
This 20-mile wide peninsula between the Firth of Forth and the Firth of Tay is an ancient kingdom, once the home of Scotland’s kings and saints. Despite its modern bridges it still seems curiously detached from the rest of the country.
