Lowther Holiday Park★★★★★
"Country retreat in idyllic surroundings of historic Lowther Estate."
Overview
A secluded natural woodland site with lovely riverside walks and glorious countryside all around. The park is home to a rare colony of red squirrels, and trout fishing is available on the two-mile stretch of the River Lowther which runs through it. A birdwatch scheme, with a coloured brochure, has been introduced, that invites guests to spot some of the 30 different species that can be seen on the park. Fully-serviced pitches are available.

About the area
Cumbria's rugged yet beautiful landscape is best known for the Lake District National Park that sits within its boundaries. It’s famous for Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, and Derwent Water, ‘Queen of the English Lakes', but other lesser-known areas in the south, such as the Lune Valley and the coastal towns, are secret gems of wide cobbled streets and rolling hills.
