Overview
Highfields Country Retreat’s 190 acres are home to a profusion of wildlife, from bats to wrens, while among its dog-friendly meadows and woodlands are several lakes in which fishing is permitted. The flatness of this part of Lincolnshire means that Boston’s parish church tower, known as the ‘Stump’, is visible for miles. Visit Melton Mowbray for its famous pork pies.

About the area
Much of the fenland around the Wash has been drained of its marshes and reclaimed as highly productive farmland. Further north, the coastline, with its sandy beaches, has been developed to accommodate the holiday industry, with caravans, campsites and the usual seaside paraphernalia.
