Malmaison Oxford★★★★
"Boutique quirky accommodation in a converted prison."
Overview
Once the city's prison and sitting alongside the medieval castle, this is definitely a hotel with a difference. Many of the rooms are actually converted from the old cells and accessed via the old gantries! Not to worry though as there have been many improvements in facilities, services and decor since the last prisoners left in 1996. Exceedingly comfortable beds and luxury bathrooms are just two of the changes. Chez Mal restaurant is in the basement, serving high quality food and drinks and there are great meeting and events spaces too. Limited valet parking spaces are available.
