"A tranquil site"
Overview
Adults-only Chainbridge Touring Caravan Site is tucked away on the banks of the River Tweed, just inland from Northumberland’s plentiful sandy beaches. A riverside walk to the lovely gardens of Paxton House might well reveal leaping salmon or trout, otters, kingfishers or even a seal. Places of interest are Berwick-upon-Tweed, Holy Island (Lindisfarne), Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands.

About the area
If it’s history you’re after, there’s heaps of it in Northumberland. On Hadrian’s Wall you can imagine scarlet-cloaked Roman legionaries keeping watch for painted Pictish warriors while cursing the English weather and dreaming of home.
