The Library at Douneside House
"Estate-grown produce on tasting menus in elegant country house."
Overview
The Library at Douneside House is a colonial-style property that spent many years as an establishment for military guests, and family portraits still hang on the walls. Surrounded by 17 acres of stunning grounds, Douneside House has enjoyed a contemporary makeover, combining period style features with its varied and colourful history. With wonderful views of the garden and terrace, the restaurant, seating just 14 guests, is the setting for exciting and interesting dishes incorporating the best estate produce including ingredients from the kitchen garden. Tasting menus could include West Coast lobster tail, miso, yuzu, samphire and kaffir lime, and Buitelaar British rose veal loin, truffle boudin blanc, celeriac and sauce forestière.
