Fallowfields
"Expect top-notch produce cooked with sensitivity, plus stunning Atlantic views."
Overview
Standing defiantly above the restless waves in an impressive location on the spectacular Lizard peninsula, the granite-built Housel Bay Hotel dates back to the 19th century. The restaurant, Fallowfields, is light and airy and simply styled, boasting wonderful sea views but no superfluity or distractions from the food, which is the undoubted star of the show. The After the Rain menu, although short on dish descriptions, has some thought-provoking words included. For instance, take Aftermath – scallop, dashi and sea beat, ‘the sea withdraws its temper, leaving salt upon the stone.
