On the edge of the National Park, a short walk from the village of Hurstpierpoint, these luxury lodges have direct access to the South Downs Way. It’s a popular base for hikers who can relax on the terrace afterwards.

The Bull, Ditchling

Dating back to 1563, The Bull is one of the oldest buildings in this pretty Sussex village. First used as an overnight resting place for travelling monks, the inn has also served as a courthouse and a staging post for the London-Brighton coach.
