"Contemporary Californian dishes in downtown Soho."
Overview
SOLA brings the exciting contemporary cooking of America’s West Coast to Soho. A light-flooded corner site with white tablecloths, pale slatted-wood walls and greenery-lined windows add a no-frills informality to the space, while Victor Garvey’s Californian, Japanese-influenced cooking is served from an open kitchen via lunch, pre-theatre and tasting menus. Top-notch ingredients, precision and bold flavours characterise inventive dishes – langoustine is dramatically flambéed with whisky on a hot stone and matched with ginger dashi and a gyoza dumpling filled with chicken liver parfait and wild mushroom, then dry-aged duck comes alongside pickled celery, roasted salsify, silky parsley root purée, black garlic purée, Sansho pepper and venison jus.
