"Glamorous setting for finely tuned French classics."
Overview
An intimate art deco dining room suffused with a golden glow from the ornate gilded ceiling and glossy fabric walls, Restaurant 1890 by Gordon Ramsay occupies a suitably opulent space in The Savoy to pay homage to the legendary French Chef Georges Auguste Escoffier. The slick, highly professional team are up to the job, describing the concept, inspiration and individual dishes in detail, and the kitchen draws on impeccable ingredients from all over the world. Tasting menus are inspired by Escoffier’s French classics executed with contemporary verve and elegance to balance the richer elements for 21st century tastes. Black truffle crème brûlée of superb intensity opens the show, then native lobster comes with Delica pumpkin purée and superb bisque balanced with pickled walnut. Show more
