The Queens Arms★★★★★
"Welcoming visitors for over 170 years."
Overview
The Queens Arms is a quintessential village inn, surrounded by lush rolling countryside, and named after Queen Sophia Dorothea, the wife of George I. There's a spacious bar with a range of seating options and a wood-burning stove, and an impressive food offering from a talented team showcasing the best of the local area. Bedrooms are located in the main pub and the adjacent coach house. There's also a lovely garden and terrace which come into their own during the warmer months.

About the area
Somerset remains rural and unspoiled, and ever popular areas to visit are the limestone and red sandstone Mendip Hills rising to over 1,000 feet, and by complete contrast, to the south and southwest, the flat landscape of the Somerset Levels. Another popular spot, the Quantocks, once the haunt of poets Coleridge and Wordsworth, are noted for their gentle slopes, heather-covered moorland expanses and red deer.
