Overview
A Royal Castle from the time of the Norman Conquest to the reign of Henry VIII, and subsequently owned by the Watson family since 1617, Rockingham Castle offers 900 years of living history. This once heavily fortified site is situated atop an escarpment which gives it the most magnificent views across five counties. The buildings, parts of which are medieval, Tudor and Stuart, are immediately surrounded by 18 acres of formal gardens.
