"A little hidden gem with an emphasis on regional specialties."
Overview
The Homestead Kitchen is a family-run restaurant in the tucked away North Yorkshire moorland village of Goathland. Rustic-chic farmhouse decor and a relaxed and unpretentious ambience is the backdrop for confident cooking that showcases a real taste of the region, including seasonal produce from the family’s kitchen garden. Start with tartare of wild North York moors roe deer, truffled carrot juice and Henderson's relish mayonnaise and move on to North Sea cod poached in brown butter with Whitby lobster sauce, confit fennel and garlic mayonnaise. Leave room for the hot chocolate tart, black cherry sauce and garden meadowsweet ice cream.
