The Three Tuns Country Inn
"A 'must-visit' on a day out in the New Forest"
Overview
'Chocolate' and 'box' come to mind on first seeing this flower-adorned, thatched, 17th-century inn. In a south-facing garden, surrounded by fields, trees and grazing ponies, it's just beyond the edge of the New Forest National Park. AA Rosette-standard food is served in all five public areas, including the comfortable, fire-warmed lounge bar, that offers Ringwood beers and cider from Burley, both nearby. There's a large outdoor terrace, a 60-seat restaurant, the oak-beamed snug offers biscuits and water for your dog and an outside bar is housed in a converted horsebox. Menu favourites of slow-roasted Avon Tyrell pork served with compressed apple, dauphinoise potatoes and a cider and mustard sauce, join specials of seafood linguine nero; warm octopus in lemon and thymee; and New Forest venison bon bons. A cider festival takes place during the summer holidays, as well as a food festival in June, followed by a beer festival at the end of September.
