"Popular pub in fishing village"
Overview
Since the 17th century, this former coaching inn has been tucked away among Blakeney’s flint-built fishermen’s cottages, a short, steepish amble up from the harbour. The tastefully appointed, Adnams-stocked bar is stylish yet informal, the conservatory is naturally bright – both are eating areas, where the same menu and daily specials apply. For a light lunch choose perhaps a sandwich; a seasonal salad; or an Adnams Broadside and Walsingham cheddar croquette with rainbow beetroot and dressed watercress. For something a bit more substantial, how about a White Horse classic – Norfolk loin of lamb, slow cooked bon bon, smoked carrot purée, heritage carrots, dauphinoise potatoes, curly kale and a red wine jus?

About the area
The North Norfolk Coast is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and probably the finest of its kind in Europe. Here you’ll find a string of quaint villages and small towns – Holkham, Wells-next-the-Sea and Cley next the Sea are 21st-century favourites, while Sheringham and Cromer are classic examples of a good old-fashioned seaside resort where grand Victorian hotels look out to sea.
