Overview
Overnight guests will surely testify that the Ship is in one of the best locations in town, for it overlooks the almost circular harbour, once an important centre of the herring trade. In the blue-carpeted bar you'll find real ales from Inveralmond, Orkney and elsewhere, as well as a hundred-plus malts. Seafood is served in the bar, the air-conditioned restaurant, and on the open-air terrace, all with harbour views. Cullen skink; venison and black pudding Scotch egg; and salmon fishcake are typical starters, while main dishes include sea bass with chorizo and herb risotto; haddock in breadcrumbs or batter; and steak and Guinness pie.
