"Outstanding cooking and great hospitality in this stylish modern restaurant."
Overview
The Braywood is a contemporary and airy restaurant with a high-end Scandinavian vibe and a beautifully verdant garden. The main restaurant has an open-plan kitchen and service is attentive, courteous and smiley from the professional team. The à la carte and set menus are driven by prime seasonal ingredients and balanced flavours, the carefully crafted dishes displaying great technical skill. Start, perhaps, with Orkney scallops, Braywood black pudding, radish and apple broth, then for main course, a well-timed and tender loin of lamb with wild garlic, asparagus, sweetbreads and lamb sauce. About the area
Berkshire consists of two distinct parts: the western half, which is predominantly rural, with the Lambourn Downs spilling down to the River Lambourn and the Berkshire Downs to the majestic Thames, and the eastern half of Berkshire, which offers plenty of opportunity to get out and savour open spaces. Reading and Newbury are the county’s major towns, and the River Kennet flows through them both
