The West House Restaurant with Rooms

"An emphasis on high quality local and seasonal produce with some interesting, inventive combinations."
Overview
A charming, tile-hung, 16th-century weaver’s cottage in the picture-perfect village of Biddenden, The West House has all the twisty beams and interesting nooks and crannies you could wish for. Relaxed and friendly throughout, this is a family business, with Graham Garrett running the kitchen. Seasonal dishes on set menus use the best possible produce on the day in the most interesting ways, with an emphasis on simplicity and depth of flavour. Typical dishes are ‘egg on toast’ – sesame, scallop and prawn toast, grilled prawn, fried quail’s egg and crispy chilli; pea and crispy pancetta risotto with aged parmesan; and grilled wild bass fillet, Kentish asparagus and pea cream.
