Gauthier Soho
"Exciting French vegan tasting-menu dishes in Soho."
Overview
Set across three floors of a handsome Regency townhouse, Gauthier Soho, previously a classic French restaurant, has reinvented itself as a formal, fully vegan outfit. Plant-based French fine dining via a tasting menu is now the mantra, and the sophisticated, fine-tuned cooking still comes underpinned by classic technique and smart presentation. Witness sunflower and tomato raviolini, with confit garlic, heritage tomato and light saffron brodo, or glazed maitake BBQ, served with thin leek tartine, sauce verte, pickled girolle and a light vegetable jus. While wine flights, white linen and polished service add further kudos, the ‘Petit Dîner’ menu, served early evening (and Saturday lunchtimes), offers excellent value.
