Overview
On the tranquil 200-acre Middleton Lodge estate close to Richmond, Forge is a restaurant that encapsulates the plot-to-plate philosophy. The estate and walled garden provide much of the produce for chef Jake Jones’s intricate six- and 10-course tasting menus inspired by the produce growing across the landscape and in the gardens. Skilled and friendly staff are on the ball to create a memorable and enjoyable experience, and there’s a relaxed feel to the understated dining room with its broad oak floor, light oak beams and high ceiling. Each course is conceived to narrate the landscape and history of the estate in a creative way in precise modern cooking that is big on flavour yet retains a freshness and lightness of touch.
