Overview
Murrays is the top dining spot at Whittlebury Park, a plush neo-Georgian hotel with a sybaritic spa and serious golfing near Silverstone racetrack. While the slick front-of-house team help diners relax in the slow lane, the kitchen hits top gear with modern British cooking. A harmonious conjunction of Devon brown crab with apple, avocado and parmesan crisp grabs the attention at the start, while an immaculate medallion of venison is paired with a golden, crisp-shelled croquette of confit shoulder, pommes Anna and quince at the main course stage. For dessert, a cloud-like sticky toffee pudding soufflé with caramel sauce and Madagascan vanilla ice cream is a winner.
