Overview
In the pretty village of Slaggyford and close to Hadrian’s Wall and Hexham racecourse, The Kirkstyle Inn and Sportsman's Rest is situated in Northumberland moorland near the border with Cumbria. A delightful pub (with rooms) and a bar dispensing the venue’s very own ‘Kirkstyle’ ale made by the local brewery, it’s still very much a country pub at heart. Windows looking out at the dales enhance the pub’s rural atmosphere, as does the natural stone floor. Modernised and updated in recent years, it combines a contemporary, designer feel with a traditional look including rustic-style wood tables laid with crisp linen napkins and leather-clad menus.
