"Finely tuned modern cooking by the quayside."
Overview
In the shadow of Newcastle’s iconic Tyne Bridge, House of Tides occupies a 16th-century, Grade I listed merchant’s townhouse close to the river. The first-floor dining room has a minimal, Scandi-inspired look with polished floorboards and ancient beams. A change of concept has moved away from the tasting menu-only choice in favour of a daily-changing à la carte. Start with steak tartare of hand-chopped, salt-aged beef sirloin, bois boudrin sauce and sourdough toast before a main course of cod, heritage tomatoes and gremolata, mussels, sea herbs and bouillabaisse sauce.
