Overview
Shute Barton is a medieval house with royal connections. A building of battlements and towers set in the rolling east Devon countryside, this historic house is a holiday let, and is available to hire all year round, but it is also open to the public four times a year for guided tours. The great kitchen contains what is believed to be the largest fireplace in England, and there is also an attic room with a medieval roof structure. It is open to the public for guided tours on 20 & 21 September and 18 & 19 October. Tours do not require booking.
