Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life
Overview
This large and award-winning family-friendly museum with 15 galleries is housed in a 19th-century school and the exhibits include a Heathcoat Lace Gallery featuring items from the local lace-making industry. There is also an agricultural section with a collection of farm wagons and implements. Other large exhibits include two waterwheels and a railway locomotive with many GWR items. If you stand on the footplate of the 'Tivvy Bumper', you can hear the sound of the engine at full steam. See website for information on events and exhibitions.
