Corfe Castle

Overview
Built in Norman times, the castle was added to by King John. It was defended during the Civil War by Lady Bankes, who surrendered after a stout resistance. Parliament ordered the demolition of the castle in 1646, and today it is one of the most impressive ruins in England. Please ring or check website for details of special events.
