Nature in Art

Overview
Nature in Art is unique - it is the world's only museum dedicated exclusively to art inspired by nature. Within the fine Georgian mansion can be found a truly diverse range of world-class art: displays embrace two and three-dimensional work in all mediums and styles ranging from Picasso to Shepherd. Spanning 1500 years, the collection contains work by 600 artists from over 50 countries. So typically, as well as a temporary exhibition, you'll find watercolour landscapes, contemporary glass, the Flemish masters, modern abstract interpretations, bronze sculpture and even some exotic oriental treasures. Visitors can also meet an artist in residence as they work on their next creation, which can range from painting to woodcarving (Mid-Jan to Mid-Nov).

About the area
Gloucestershire is home to a variety of landscapes, including the Cotswolds, a region of gentle hills, valleys and gem-like villages that roll through the county. To their west is the Severn Plain, watered by Britain’s longest river and characterised by orchards and farms marked out by hedgerows that blaze with mayflower in the spring; beyond the Severn are the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley.
