Buckingham Palace
Overview
Buckingham Palace has been the official London residence of Britain's sovereigns since 1837. Today it serves as both the home and office of King Charles the 3rd. Its nineteen State Rooms, which open during August and September, form the heart of the working Palace and more than 500,000 people visit each year as guests at State, ceremonial and official occasions and garden parties. After visiting the State Rooms, visitors can enjoy a walk along the south side of the garden, which offers superb views of the west front of the Palace and the 19th-century lake.
