Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens
Overview
Located in the grounds of one of Norfolk’s most attractive country houses, the 18th-century Thrigby Hall, this wildlife garden has tigers, primates and reptiles. There are hundreds of birds, from cockatoos and owls to wetland species; there is even a red panda. There are tropical bird houses, a unique blue willow-pattern garden and tree walk, and a summer house as old as the park. The enormous jungle swamp hall has special features such as underwater viewing of large crocodiles. The garden has an animal and tree adoption scheme, with all money going to its Thrigby Conservation Fund which supports leading environmental projects around the world.

About the area
The North Norfolk Coast is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and probably the finest of its kind in Europe. Here you’ll find a string of quaint villages and small towns – Holkham, Wells-next-the-Sea and Cley next the Sea are 21st-century favourites, while Sheringham and Cromer are classic examples of a good old-fashioned seaside resort where grand Victorian hotels look out to sea.
