Be sure to visit Salts Mill, a giant of a building on a truly epic scale. The mill is a little quieter these days – with a permanent exhibition of paintings by David Hockney, but other works besides, and a museum of Saltaire too. Potter in the arty shops and chill out in the cafe or the diner.

Everybody knows that Yorkshire has some special landscapes. The Dales and the Moors first spring to mind, but what about West Yorkshire? That’s Leeds and Bradford isn’t it?
