Beaghmore Stone Circles and Alignments
Overview
Discovered in the 1930s, these impressive, ritualistic stones have been dated back to at least the early Bronze, and may even be Neolithic. There are three pairs of stone circles, one single circle, stone rows or alignments, and cairns, which range in height from one to four feet. This is an area littered with historic monuments, many discovered by people cutting turf.
