The Dipping Lugger, Ullapool, Highland

5 Gold Stars, 3 AA Rosettes

The Dipping Lugger is an 18th-century former manse that overlooks Loch Broom in Ullapool. It is now a wonderful restaurant with rooms offering the highest levels of service and hospitality backed up with a stunning dining experience. The property takes its name from a sailing boat and much of the design has a nautical theme.

Plas Dinas Country House sits between the Snowdonia mountains and the Irish Sea. Roskhill House is a charming cottage set in the west of Skye. The Riverside at Aymestrey, Aymestrey, Herefordshire

The Riverside Inn sits alongside the River Lugg in a rural part of Herefordshire. A 16th-century black-and-white inn it has a range of comfortable bedrooms including suites, which successfully bring together traditional features with a more contemporary feel. Dinner is a labour of love for chef-patron Andy Link, and shouldn’t be missed. Local sourcing and home-grown produce are key to the ethos here, alongside a number of ecological initiatives. Minimising food miles, preserving endangered foods, recycling and reusing, preserving local wildlife and working hard to become carbon-free; it's all part of the Riverside's green journey.
