Loch Dhu and Loch Chon
From the car park turn right onto the B829. The road turns away from the loch for a short while until it comes to Loch Dhu (the Black Loch). At the south end of the loch, look for a road to the right signposted to Comer Farm.
Follow this road as it bears right, crosses a bridge at the bottom of Loch Dhu and reaches a T-junction. At the T-junction, look straight ahead to see the outline of a ventilation shaft on the water pipe from Loch Katrine to Glasgow.
Turn right and go uphill, passing Loch Dhu House on the right. Keep looking to the left for a sight of the ventilation shafts, which mark the line of the mains water pipe to Glasgow. Continue to follow the forest road as it undulates along the length of the loch.
Beyond the end of the loch, cross a bridge and pass the turn-off to Frenich Farm, as the road starts to bend to the right. Cross another bridge just before the road climbs steeply to return to the B829 at a T-junction.
Turn right and follow the road as it twists and turns, up and down all the way back to the car park.
