Overview
Set in the city's oldest house, Lancaster Judges' Lodgings Museum brings the history of Lancaster to life. With its backdrop of Lancaster Castle, this elegant, Grade I building was home to Thomas Covell, famous for locking up the Lancashire Witches. The house later became an impressive residence for judges visiting the Assize Court at the Castle. Today visitors can see beautiful period rooms, gorgeous Gillows furniture, a Victorian schoolroom and the Museum of Childhood.
