Overview
The British Commercial Vehicle Museum is exactly what it sounds like, a unique line-up of historic commercial vehicles and buses spanning a century of truck and bus building. There are more than 50 exhibits on permanent display, the 'Engine Room' which tells the story of engine development and how drivers can care for their vehicle engines, a cinema showing classic transport films, and a photographic archive containing over 250,000 images of past times. Lancashire was at the centre of the British cotton industry in the 19th century, which lead to the urbanization of great tracts of the area. The cotton boom came and went, but the industrial profile remains.
