"Unpretentious modern dining in an unexpected setting."
Overview
Aven is a thrilling gastronomic discovery in an unexpected location. In a central-yet-tranquil residential area, the dining room in the charming period terraced property has an easy-on-the-eye, pared-back Scandi feel, with wooden floors, and walls brightened with contemporary artworks; the team foster a relaxed and unpretentious ambience. The seven-course seasonal tasting menu delivers Oli Martin’s signature robust flavours in inventive contemporary dishes, among them pan-seared sea bass with courgette, langoustine bisque and dashi vinegar gel, then roast chicken with miso, truffle, lion’s mane mushroom and fermented mushroom sauce. The eclectic wine list is full of interest; as well as wine flights, they offer a beer tasting flight.
