Exploring the Yorkshire Dales
You might be surprised to find out that not all of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is actually in Yorkshire – part of the western side falls in Cumbria. And not all of the area traditionally known as the Yorkshire Dales is included in the boundaries of the National Park either – Nidderdale is a notable example.
The magnificent upland region of the Dales is dominated by gritstone and limestone is very popular with tourists. It’s crossed by several long-distance routes including the Pennine Way, the Dales Way, the Coast to Coast Path and the Pennine Bridleway making it a must for walkers and cyclists alike.
