Lainston House
"Sumptuous countryside hotel ticks all the boxes."
Overview
Lainston House is a beautiful Queen Anne red brick hotel with 63 acres of gorgeous grounds in Winchester. Staff provide good levels of courtesy and care with a polished, professional service. Bedrooms are tastefully appointed and include some spectacular, spacious rooms with stylish handmade beds and stunning bathrooms. Public rooms include a cocktail bar built entirely from a single cedar and stocked with an impressive range of rare drinks and cigars. Dining options include The Avenue restaurant, named after the stunning avenue of lime trees leading up to the house, which offers a tantalising tasting menu. The more informal, but equally attractive restaurant, The Wellhouse is one of the only UK restaurants where every dish is cooked by woodfire. Its historic, rustic-luxe atmosphere and deep, smoky flavours make for a truly unforgettable dining experience, and it is also home to the Season cookery school. An award-winning approach to sustainability has gained the property a B Corp status.
