The Avenue
"Elegant setting for confident modern cooking."
Overview
Named after the mile-long avenue of lime trees visible from the dining room, Avenue Restaurant at Lainston House Hotel makes the most of its magnificent countryside setting. Surrounded by mature grounds, the dining room has plenty of period charm with wood panels, comfortable chairs and fine tableware. The highly skilled modern British cooking sticks to the seasons, starting perhaps with pigeon on toast, parsley, celeriac, Medjool date and Madeira sauce. Venison loin, beetroot, onion caramel and duck liver sauce is a full-flavoured main which might be followed by coffee and chocolate mousse, pickled cocoa nib, Pedro Ximénez and banana sorbet.
