Overview
Set up by Paul Theakston in the former Wellgarth Maltings in 1992, the complex includes an excellent visitor centre and a popular bar-cum-bistro. Tour the brewhouse and fermenting room to learn how beer is made, then take in the wonderful views over the River Ure and surrounding countryside as you sup tip-top pints of Riggwelter and Golden Sheep. Finally, tuck into a good plate of food. Plenty of black sheep-themed goodies in the gift shop, too. Tours are popular, so book ahead.
