Overview
Located within this international centre for polar studies, the museum has one of the best collections of journals, photographs, maps and even items of clothing that chronicle the most important Arctic and Antarctic expeditions ever undertaken. Special emphasis is placed on Captain Scott and on the exploration of the Northwest Passage. Other exhibits include Inuit work and the art of the polar regions, as well as displays on current scientific exploration. The museum has a regular programme of exhibitions in addition to its permanent displays. Public lectures run from October to December and February to April.
