Overview
Dating back to 1420, this historic Sussex inn was once a well-known haunt of smugglers, including the notorious 18th-century Hawkhurst Gang. These days, the atmospheric dining room retains a unique medieval character – with its black-and-white timbers, fireplaces and oil paintings – but is host to diners enjoying modern, flavoursome British dishes.
