The Coach
"Sharp cooking of excellent ingredients."
Overview
Small and compact, Tom Kerridge’s second pub has a cosy feel, the L-shaped room dominated by a central polished pewter bar which wraps around the space. To the right, is the open-plan kitchen complete with meat fridge and rotisserie which adds a real buzz. Big on flavour and technical finesse, the menus read like a roster of big-hearted, modern pub food – perhaps a black pudding Scotch egg with green peppercorn sauce and lardo, or buttered Cornish fish with bouillabaisse and Swiss chard. Reservations are taken three months in advance, but weekend breakfasts are ‘just walk in’; they are closed on Tuesdays.
