The Elderflower Restaurant

"Impeccable ingredients handled with skill and precision."
Overview
On a cobbled street by Lymington quayside, Andrew and Marjolaine Du Bourg’s Elderflower Restaurant has heaps of old-world charm but the stripped-back interior is more in tune with the modern European cooking. Tasting menus of well-balanced dishes deliver real depth of flavour, starting with punchy game parfait with crab apple jelly, fig chutney and toasted brioche. Given the waterside spot, the catch of the day is always a good bet, as in a mixed grill of sea-fresh bass, prawn, mussels, saffron, Isle of Wight Tomato rice and salsa verde butter. To finish, a divine apple crumble soufflé with apple compôte, granola crumb, calvados custard and thyme and cardamon ice cream.
