"Newly refurbished inn with a great location and excellent dining."
Overview
The Crusoe was originally built in 1824 and overlooks the harbour with stunning views onto the Forth in Lower Largo which is the birthplace of Alexander Selkirk the "real" Robinson Crusoe. It reopened to acclaim in 2022 after a massive refurbishment programme. The beach and sea come right up to certain bedrooms which are all extremely well appointed with many luxurious extras provided as standard. Award-winning food is served in the wonderful restaurant or downstairs in the bar and courtyard area overlooking the harbour. Locally sourced provenance is cooked with care, thought and imagination with a wonderful breakfast to give the guest the best possible start to their day.

About the area
This 20-mile wide peninsula between the Firth of Forth and the Firth of Tay is an ancient kingdom, once the home of Scotland’s kings and saints. Despite its modern bridges it still seems curiously detached from the rest of the country.
