"Traditional pub with a focus on food."
Overview
The Hoop, a 15th-century free house on Stock’s village green is every inch the traditional country pub, offering a warm welcome, authentic pub interiors and a pleasing absence of music and fruit machines. There’s an emphasis on food here, with dishes ranging from toad-in-the-hoop to pan-fried calves' liver with crispy bacon, creamy mash and home-cooked onion rings. You could finish with treacle tart and ice cream, or hot chocolate fondant with salted caramel ice cream. The annual beer festival (late May) has been going from strength to strength for over 30 years; you’ll have over 100 real ales to choose from, not to mention fruit beers, perries and more.
